Why Glam Wealth Blueprint?

 Of the three words, Glam is the one I had the biggest issue with.

I grew up with a Glamorous mom, who wore skinny jeans (before they were called "skinny jeans") and stilettos everyday. She had a tube of red lipstick that she used as eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. She smelled like perfume, cigarettes, fun, and fresh air. She was everything! 

But it wasn't until today as an adult that Glam feels as if it is related to money. Like a Chanel dress is Glam, a Prada purse is Glam, a big house with tall ceilings is Glam. If I’m being honest, being a Black woman might weigh on that as well. Today it’s as if expensive things make you Glam—not the skinny no-brand jeans, no-name stilettos, and a tube of lipstick that beats your face like a Hollywood makeup artist. Naturally, that made me question my Glam, because I don't desire those things in that way, so if that's the definition of Glam today, that's not me.

EXCEPT I KNOW that I am Glam, because I'm my mother's daughter.

I'm not Glam because I was a model for 10 years, for companies like Guess, YSL, Tommy Hilfiger, Yahoo, St. John, and many more. I'm not Glam because I've been all over the world in environments that I don't feel comfortable talking about because it feels like bragging. Hell, I'm not even Glam because I decorated my house with Black walls and pink accents.

I'm Glam, truly, because I SAY I AM. And as with everything... that's enough, and it's one of the most fun things about me: my unapologetic desire to not care about the environment while I choose to use my face, body, and wardrobe as my canvas.

And if this feels long, it's because I'm still trying to convince myself lol!

In 2019, I started studying the history of money, from the currency of the Romans to today. As I began reading about America and its initial currency—which was enslaved people—the murder of George Floyd occurred. During that time, I also learned about the massacre of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and realized that the largest percentage of lynching victims were actually Black business owners.

I grew to understand that systemic racism functions best in poverty, and I realized that with my expertise, I could combat it on a completely different level.

But I was still so ignorant, by design.

So I did the only thing I could do: I recruited experts in different areas and created an educational series to share my journey. I wanted to map out how systemic racism has financially impacted the Black community in banking, housing, politics, education, policing, birthing, and so much more.

During that same time, I also served as a speaker for various organizations, sharing what I had learned from my studies—and it all led to the Blueprint that I look forward to sharing with you.
